Do I need to be able to swim?
You need to be water confident and swim 10m in light clothing. Whenever you're on the water you'll be wearing a buoyancy aid.
What do you provide?
We supply wetsuits, spray tops, buoyancy aids and boats.
What do I need to bring with me?
It does depend slightly on the course, once you have booked, you'll receive a detailed list of things to bring.
For sailing courses, you will need to bring:
- Swimwear to go under the wetsuit we provide.
- A rashest or synthetic t-shirt to go under the wetsuit if you have sensitive skin.
- A towel & change of clothes.
- Shoes that can get wet, these can be old trainers or wetsuit boots if you have them.
- Sun cream, a hat & glasses with a strap on sunny days.
For powerboat courses, you will need to bring:
- A towel and change of clothes.
- Shoes that can get wet, these can be old trainers or wetsuit boots if you have them.
- Sun cream, a hat & glasses with a strap on sunny days.
- Waterproof jacket & trousers if you have them. We can supply a top if needed.
- Warm layers avoid jeans.
What qualifications do your instructors hold?
All of our instructors hold Royal Yachting Association Instructor qualifications as well as a first-aid certificate and powerboat level 2 certificate.
What happens if I need to cancel?
All cancellations are subject to a £15 admin fee. On all courses (except Instructor courses) we require 14 days' notice prior to the course start date for a refund (minus the admin fee). For Instructor courses we require 2 months notice.
How do I book for more than 3 people?

I can't find a suitable course date, what other options are there?
Please call 01753683872 or email training@dwsc.co.uk, we may be able to add additional dates to our program, especially if you're planning to do the course with someone else.
The course I'm interested in is full, what are the other options?

I can't select the type of ticket I want to book?
You need to be logged in to book our courses.
If this is your first course at Datchet Water Sailing Club you will have to create an account, an email will be sent with your login details, check your junk mail if you can't find it in your inbox.

I can't book the level 2 course as part of my Learn to Sail package
Due to the nature of our booking system, the Level 2 course has to be booked for you by us. Once you have completed your level 1 please send an email to training@dwsc.co.uk with your preferred course date and we will get you booked in.
