Coronavirus Update

Datchet Water Sailing Club is currently closed.

4th November 2020 – A message from the Club Commodore:

Dear Members,

The Corona virus continues to cause chaos in 2020. This afternoon the Government passed legislation for a second lockdown. Although we were hopeful that the RYA would secure a reprieve for sailors they have advised all clubs to close their facilities. So sadly we will be closed from the 5th November.

The RYA will continue to lobby the Government on behalf of its members and will be updating us regularly. In the meantime, you can attend your boat for essential maintenance but you must contact the club to arrange the visit.

We hope that this “firebreak” will work and that we will be back on the water on the 3rd December or before if the RYA are successful with their lobbying. We will keep you updated with any developments.

In the meantime, we hope you stay well and we look forward to seeing you next Wednesday for the AGM.

Nick Harris

Commodore

Welcome to Datchet Water Sailing Club

Whatever your sailing style you’ll find a warm welcome and great sailing area at Datchet Water Sailing Club.

Our home, on the Queen Mother Reservoir has one of the longest runs across the water of any inland sailing area, and is easy to reach, almost on the junction of the M25 and M4.

We are a friendly crowd and anyone who wants to sail from beginners to experts is welcome.   Our members sail and race regularly with club support, training and

development to build confidence and skills.

As well as great sailing, there are lots of additional social events, open meetings and training opportunities, for all ages.
