About Us
Datchet Water Sailing Club is a real hidden jewel, 15 mins from London nestled in the shadow of Windsor Castle. It is a members club, run by the members for the members with the additional support of paid staff. It is a club "Where membership matters" and our core values reflect how we see the club and how we want the club to be seen by others. its perfect for all classes of sailing, powerboating and training or to just sit and enjoy the water and the views.
The sailing water is almost two kilometres long and over a kilometre wide making it large enough for all dinghy classes, small keelboats, foilers and catamarans and great for Windsurfing, Wingfoiling and Stand Up Paddleboarding. There are 300 meters of beach and astroturf to make rigging and launching easier.
The water is open Wednesday to Sunday and bank holidays excluding Christmas Day, weather permitting. Whenever the water is open, patrol boat cover is provided.
What We Do
Sailing
Traditional classes are well represented at the club with Flying Fifteens, Wayfarers and Lasers all having a strong following. We welcome foiling dinghies, asymmetric & symmetric classes, single-handers & double-handers as well as boasting one of the largest inland catamaran fleets in the country.
Club racing takes place year-round on Sunday mornings and on Wednesday evenings during the summer there is a very popular handicap series for sailors of all abilities to join in. We also host a number of open meetings, including nations events throughout the year.
Datchet Water Sailing Club is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) recognised Training Centre, On-Board Club and British Youth Sailing Recognised Club. We offer tuition at all levels.
