Sailing on the Solent

The club is organising a day out big boat sailing on Tuesday 14th May 2024.

We are chartering 3 Oceanis 37 from Fairview Sailing at Port Hamble. https://www.fairviewsailing.co.uk/bareboat-charter...

We meet for a 9am boarding at Port Hamble and have a day on the Solent, returning for 5pm. Although not racing we will probably choose a course and destination for lunch, with the first one arriving getting a prize.

There will be opportunities to brush up your passage planning, MOB, radio usage, cooking in the galley and all the skills of big boat sailing. Refreshments and a packed lunch is included.

The boats will be skippered by DWSC members with everyone having opportunity to helm.

All bad weather gear and life jackets are provided.

Cost will be £150pp to members. We expect the places (max 24) to go quickly but we hope to run a second outing later in the summer.
