Saturday, Sunshine, great breeze – all those who joined in had three good races – nice to see 6 Lasers out there, with brisk and good natured competition. Well done and thanks to all for a great couple of hours.

Wednesday Evening Series Starts Tomorrow

The official Wednesday Evening Race Series starts tomorrow evening. From now until the 24th August we have a regular start time of 7.30 pm. There are three series – a rising sun series until 22nd June; a setting sun series from the Wednesday afterwards until 24th August and an overall series for the whole summer. This year we are also repeating the Solstice Series over four of the longest evenings in late June. Full details are at

If you are looking for a crew for any Wednesday night or are interested in crewing please e-mail crewhelm or post a message on the Forum. I currently know of a few crews who are keen to sail on Wednesday evening but no crewless helms have contacted me yet.

Race Officer Training

Do you want to become a race officer?

Are you interested in what race officering is?

We are running an Introduction to Race Officering this May. Over two days we will cover the basics enabling you to run racing at club level.

There is no obligation to become a club race officer afterwards.

Thursday 5th May will be an evening chat on what a race officer does with free curry!!

Wednesday 11th May will be an evening out on the water running Wednesday evening racing to put the new skills to use

Wednesday Evening Racing Starts Tonight

Wednesday evening racing starts tonight with a fun race. Warning signal will not be before 1855 hrs. As in previous years we are running a couple of informal races for those of members who can get to the club for this time in order to get some practice in for the popular Wednesday night series.

The Water Level is Rising

The water level continues to rise and it will be over the lip and onto the nice beach by about Tuesday. At the current rate the lake will be full by next weekend. If you haven’t sailed yet in 2011 make get on the water for Saturday or Sunday racing.
