NSSA Day 6

Friday brought more wind for the NSSA and the competitors hit the water early for 4 races. In the Topper Fleet James Taylor and Matt Firth had an excellent day with some really great results including a 9th for Matt Firth in the final race. In the Laser Radials Matt Walmsley moved up the fleet with some competitive racing despite being quite light for the boat.

In the slow handicap Dan Jones and Lucas Noyau turned on the downwind speed to get some great results including 1st Feva in race 3 and despite being tired and underweight for the boat Huw Whitworth and Harry Wilson scored some good results in the fast handicap.

NSSA Day 4

The day dawned bright and hot on the Thursday of the NSSA but sadly no wind was forthcoming. Just after lunch some zephers made their way towards us and the fleets were released. Unfortunatly the wind didn’t hold and the were many cries of Abandon from the massed Topper Fleet, one Datchet Sailor boarded the commitee boat and demanded they put up the ABandon Flag. After a bit of kayaking, rounders, capture the flag and climbing the team relaxed after an excellent day.

Huw Whitworth and Harry Wilson have qualified for the Semi Finals of the Mount Hayes Trophy and are preparing for the next race. Top 3 or better will see them progress to the finals.

In the other races Matt Firth recorded a 12th place out of 42 in the singlehanded race and James Taylor and Matt Walmsley were first Feva and top 20 in the 175 boat allcomers race. Lucas Noyau and Dan Jones also did well in their races.
