Dear Members,
I am delighted to confirm that Datchet Water Sailing Club will reopen Monday 29th March 2021.
Although the water is normally closed on Monday and Tuesdays, Gabrielle and Fiona will open the water from 10 am - 5 pm on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th March. The weather forecast is looking good and they are hoping to see you back doing what you enjoy.
The Sailing Committee met last week. I would like to thank them for all the effort that is going in to ensure a safe return to the water. The Race Officers are meeting ext Wednesday the 31st and I encourage all Race Officers to participate. There are 4 safety boat refresher courses running and I thank you for giving of your time and your service to your fellow members. Racing returns on the 4th April.
As it is a slow and steady approach to getting the country back on its feet we understand that members will return at different points from shielding or for mixed household sailing. Duties are a key element of making the club run smoothly. I am asking all family or bubble groups to help us by selecting the early duties allowing other members time to get back on their feet.
I am so proud of how our members have held true to our club values of being supportive, social, respectful and competitive. Much work has gone on to get everything ready and I thank you all for your loyalty to the Club. I am pleased that the loyalty rate for subscriptions has been well received and thank you for your feedback.
The Covid19 protocols for reopening can be viewed here.
I look forward to seeing you at the club.
Nick Harris
