Club Race Team Support process – CRATES – and briefing this Sunday

The club is implementing a new process this year to provide more support to Race Officers. The process (Club RAce TEam Support – CRATES) is designed to share best practices identified by RO’s. It also introduces briefings before the first Sunday race of the month to help competitors ensure they understand the Sailing Instructions.

Derek Lambert (RO this week, and the first guinea pig for CRATES) will hold a briefing at 10am in the wetbar. Please attend to support Derek and hear more about the process. We are also asking competitors to respect the Race Team and provide any observations in feedback forms after a race rather than on the water.

RO’s (and Safety Coxswains) are the club’s frontline volunteers and essential to successful racing. Please think about becoming a RO, Assistant RO, or Safety Coxswain – particularly if you are an experienced racer and ‘think you can do better’!

Thank you
