A Christmas message from your Commodore

I have just got back from the Club Christmas Lunch and wanted to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

It was really great to see 51 people at our Christmas Lunch and thanks to Keith for not burning the bird. Lets see how many more people we can get for next year.

We are hoping to see even more of you at the Bottle Race on Boxing day and the Pink Elephant on New Year’s day, definitely the best way to clear those cobwebs out after the celebrations. There will be soup and rolls available (for those who know how to use a microwave) and if you want to bring leftovers from your celebrations please do.

In 2017 we hope to encourage more participation and socializing, to assist with this we have made the extensive investment of providing tea bags and coffee granules with some milk and a kettle on Wednesdays for members use. If you would like to come along any or every Wednesday we will be delighted to see you.

It is my aim to meet each of you and get to know you all, as I believe we have a fantastic club that I am very proud to be leading. We can all be a part of developing DWSC to be the best inland club in the UK that every sailor wants to be part of.

If you of course have any ideas on how we can make this happen please email me at commodore or mike or let’s talk, I am generally always at the club on a Sunday.

All the best and Merry Christmas to you and you family

Mike Beckett
