Datchet Water Sailing Club

Club Regatta

3rd & 4th July, 2010

Saturday 3rd - Club Pursuit Race

By popular request the club will be running a pursuit race.  This racing format involves each different class being allocated a start time based on their handicap rating and everyone finishing at the same time.  This time we are going to experiment with splitting the classes in two and racing the fast classes for two and  a half hours and the slow classes for one and a half hours. The lead boat at the designated finish time wins.  Currently estimated start times are here.  Provisional Sailing Instructions are here.

Briefing      2.30 pm

First Start for “Fast Fleet” (Fireballs)  3.30 pm

First Start for “Slow Fleet” (Toppers)   4.30 pm

Finishing at  6 pm

Saturday Night Party

Tickets £13 if booked before this Sunday 20th June (£18 if after that date)

This year Datchet Water Sailing Club are teaming up with Watersports who are organizing their Summer Party to tie in with our Summer Regatta on Saturday the 3rd July. "So, the plan is as follows: Naturally we'll have fantastic warm windy weather for some exciting racing, then come off the water to some summertime drinks and a sumptuous barbeque! For the evening's entertainment we've gone huge this year, and have booked 5 piece local party band "Jonny B 's Allstars" to get everyone off their seats (www.jonnybmusic.co.uk <http://www.jonnybmusic.co.uk/>). We saw these guys in The Old Ticket Hall in Windsor last August and were dancing away all night to a classic mix of funky soul, rock and pop tunes. Don't want to drive home? There'll be a number of people camping at the reservoir, so bring a tent!!"
