for classes considering an event at Datchet Water Sailing Club

Thank you for your interest in running an Open Meeting at Datchet Water Sailing Club. As you may or may not be aware we are a large club located just to the West of London with easy access to both the M4 and M25, we have large active membership who sail mainly on Sundays. The easy launching, ample boat parking space, large changing rooms, bar & catering facilities, along with experienced race management teams, superb rescue craft and rescue coxswains make this a popular venue.

Priorities for bookings are given to the 'home fleet', we also take a few extra meetings.

The following apply:

Requests for Open Meetings in the following year should be received before 1^st November, it may not be possible to accommodate requests received after this date. The sailing program for the following year is finalized at the November Sailing Committee Meeting.

Sailing will take place under the Sailing Instructions of Datchet Water Sailing Club, whilst we allow a few amendments we do not sail under other clubs or classes Sailing Instructions. (A copy of standard our Standard Sailing Instructions are available on request in paper form.)

Notice of Race, advertisement or schedule of events are only to be issued with the written consent of Datchet Water Sailing Club.

Racing on Sunday may be restricted to two races following a triangle/sausage configuration in order that club racing is not adversely affected. To ensure the smooth running of club racing, an early start may be required - first club start is at 10:25am

We do not, normally, allow Open Meetings during February & August

There will be no Open Meetings on the weekend of Remembrance Sunday

The cost will be, for the period March 1st 1999 to February 29th 2000, for normal classes:

Notes:

These rates are reviewed every year and we reserve the right to alter them accordingly.
We would expect a guarantee of at least 20 entries and would require you to underwrite the entry fees to this effect - see appropriate charges above. In the event of combined open meetings we would require this amount from each class.
If classes wish to add a class levy please advise Datchet Water Sailing Club in advance.

If you are able to comply and willing to accept our terms, please contact us in writing and the matter will be put before the Race Management Committee who make the final decision whether to accept the event.

These guidelines are issued to cover problems we have experienced in the past. If you feel you cannot or do not wish to comply with the above, please contact the Vice Commodore to discuss the matter.
