Meet The Team
Datchet Water Sailing Club is organised and run by a much valued team of volunteers who make up the Management Committee, Race Committee and Club Council.
Running the day-to-day administration and finance of the Club is the Gabrielle Boase, who is the General Manager and can be found in the Club office during the week (except Monday’s) and on the weekend.
Also available to assist all Club members are the Racing and Sailing Managers. The Racing Manager will be available in the club every weekend and during summer evenings. He is there to look after the more tedious parts of racing and runs the Can Sail, Can’t Race program for people who wish to get into racing. The Training Manager looks after the training side of the club and the 20kt Squad for Junior and Youth Sailors.
The Club also employees a wide range of watersports instructors on a freelance basis who are responsible for delivering RYA courses to all Club members.
The links on the left provide all the details you need to know about the key personnel that can be found in the Club.
If anyone has any questions, they are more than welcome to either contact the office on 01753 683872 or email sailing@dwsc.co.uk

Barry Peters Commodore Sails - Dart 18 / Cat No. 07973 321377 Favourite Sailing Memory - Cork week - can't be beaten - go! Having messed around with boats on summer holidays as a child, and then been involved with a different set of boats whilst in the marines, I started sailing and racing “big boats” again in the early 90’s . This was part of a regular crew of 12 and based out of Hamble competing in various regattas and off shore events. Unfortunately work got in the way of committing to the “big boat” and I looked at buying a laser to give me the freedom to sail on my own when I could. Somehow I ended up buying a Dart 18 and this has been my main boat since.

Janet Pepper Vice Commodore
A little about me - I started sailing later than most, and have owned and sailed single handers, and crewed on a variety of boats for other club members. I have worked with The Council for the last 3 years, supporting them in their aims to raise the profile of the club, encourage new members, support current members, and improve the facilities. I've supported the Annual On-the Water Weekend for the last 4/5 years, and currently I am working with the "Activate Your Laser" scheme, which we are expanding to other fleets at the Club.

Sebastian Camisuli Council Member Sails - 49er
A little about me - During my term as council member I would like to ensure the interest of the sailing community is maintained and enhanced.I want to ensure that good sailing is offered on a regular basis for both competitors and leisure sailors of all ages and abilities. I want good courses to be set in a timely manner and not be restricted by permanent markers. I want to ensure that the club is well managed and the issues regarding the facilities are properly addressed. The changing rooms are well over due for a major refurbishment. I would also like to see the club invest in renewable technologies. This is the right thing to do and will send out the positive forward thinking message the club needs.
The council needs to work hard in a united manner to deliver the strong aspirations set out in the future plan.

Adrian Burroughs Council Member Sails - RS100 No. - 07817 377637
Favourite Sailing Memory- Doing my RYA level 1 course in February and capsizing more often than I wished. The water temp was certainly bracing!!
A little about me - I got into sailing later than most, and still feel that I am on a steep upward learning slope. I joined the council to help try and boost the number of Lasers on the water, and to get more involved in the club generally. I have a keen interest in boosting membership numbers in general, I also see my role on council to provide support and assistance in any area required.

Sue Holdship Club Accountant Responsabilities - Looking after clubs finances Favourite Sailing Memory- Coming 8th in the Fireball French Nationals - a while ago!
I joined DWSC around 1982 as a junior member sailing a Mirror Dinghy. Over the years I have competitively sailed a 420, Laser, Fireball, Osprey, Int 14, Flying Fifteen, Laser 5000 and a brief spell in a 470 training with the Olympic Squad. With two young children and my interest in golf, sailing has taken a bit of a back seat recently. During my time at Datchet I spent 15 years on Council for the majority of which I was the Honorary Treasurer. I now work for Rouse Partners and spend one day a week at DWSC doing all the accounts work.
