SCHRS to PN Process
SCHRS stands for Small Catamaran Handicap Rating
System and is an ISAF measurement rating system, i.e. parameters of a
boat are measured, such as overall length, sail area & number of
crew, and the values are entered into a rating formula that produces a
rating value that is used in the same way as the RYA PN value to produce
a set of results based on a handicapping formula.
The is another well established measurement rating
system for multi-hulls called Texel.
I have taken 3 classes that have the best attested
validity under the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick scheme as the basis of the
calculation of a PN for multi-hull classes without an RYA listed PN.

To produce a Calculated PN for a class with
only an SCHR rating multiply the SCHR rating value by 684.
The list below is based on the assumption
that the classes have sailed in a standard configuration, if they they are
sailed with a different configuration the SCHR rating value should be
re-calculated using the formulae embedded in an Excel spreadsheet or
available as a facility within Sailwave. Note - SCHRS
