We are at the RYA Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace on the weekend of Sat Feb 28th / Sun March 1stand are looking for volunteers to help us staff the stand. We are putting together a rota of willing people so if you are able to help us out for an hour or two sometime over the weekend, this would be really appreciated.

This weekend at Datchet Water Sailing Club

This weekend at the club we would like to welcome back The RYA Spitfires for their 4 day training session.

On Sunday we continue with the Winter Warm Up series.

The weather is look good so we may look to run an extra race at the discretion of the race officer. You will be notified on the Sunday morning if the 3rd race will be run.

This Weekend at Datchet Water Sailing Club

We would like to welcome the Sprint 15’s on Saturday for their Open. It will be 2 45-60 minute races back to back with the first warning signal being at 12:30pm.

We would also like to welcome East and South East Optimist Zone squad and also the Spitfires who will be joining us for the weekend training.

Sunday will be the Winter Warm Up. The race officer may wish to run an extra race to make up for last week’s cancellation but this will be at her discretion. If you did not enter last week please can you fill out an entry form at the office window. This will ensure you get a result and it is free to club members.

This weekend we are delighted to welcome the Optimist and Spitfire classes for training.

We also look forward to seeing the visiting Flying Fifteens for this year’s FF Mid-winters on Saturday.

This will be hosted by our very own commodore Phil Tinsley as race officer.

In the evening Rod Carr will be the guest speaker at the club organised by Mervyn wright on behalf of the Flying Fifteens. This is open to all club members.

The Sunday will be start of the Winter Warm Up series free for club members to enter.

Tie your boats down

Dear members,

If you have any spare time, please can you insure you have tied your boats down properly in the boat park. We have had 50Kts come through and a few have blown over. The members have been notified by email.

Up and coming at the club

Dear Members,

Tonight Friday the 23rd of January, we welcome Mike McNamara who is kindly holding a training evening for members. It is 19:15 for a 19:30 start in the Windsor Suite.

This weekend we also have the Cadet Class Association joining us for winter training.

Looking forward into next week, the weather forecast is showing high winds from Wednesday to Friday peaking at 42kts, so if you are at the club over the weekend please ensure that your boats are well tied down.

Next week end on Saturday is the Flying Fifteen Mid-Winters. Please contact Mervyn Wright mervynwright if you wish to take part in one of the fleet boats.

Mervyn has also arranged Rod Carr as a guest speaker after racing. Again this is open to club members, but please contact Mervyn if you wish to attend as Keith is kindly putting a Chilli on and we have to let him know numbers.
