What’s on at the Club this Weekend?

Dear Members,

The wind is looking great here at the club this weekend. It would be great to see all of you on the water.

This Sunday the Autumn Series will be ran by Dave Hereward as your Race Officer and on Safety will be Richard- Walker Browning

 

 

Brunel University

We will have the Brunel University Sailing Team up on Saturday for a training session. They will be a running an RYA Level 1 course with 9 students.

 

Advanced Instructor Course 

Stuart and Tom are on their Advanced Instructors course this weekend. We wish them the best of luck.

Safety Boat Course 

We will be running a safety boat course this weekend. Trevor Nicholls will be the instructor for this course.
CONGRATULATIONS!

 

…..Tristan Beckett, Stuart Philbey, and Tom McGivney who passed their Power Boat Instructor Course last weekend at Erith.

 

…..Tom Cox, Jade Golder, Sebastian Laclau, Oliver Wicks , Alec McLeod who passed their pre assessment last week and who are all on the Dinghy Instructor course next week.

 

…..Brunel University students who passed their Power Boat Level 2 alongside Andrew Bradley and we wish all the Brunel Students doing their Level 1 tomorrow the best of luck.

What’s on at the Club This Weekend?

Dear Members,

The wind is looking great here at the club this weekend. It would be great to see all of you on the water.

This Sunday the Autumn Series will be ran by Paul Robinson as your Race Officer and on Safety will be Jeremy Bennett and Rob- Ellis Paul

Powerboat Instructor Course 

Tristan and Stuart are away this for the final weekend of their Powerboat Instructors Course at Erith Yacht Club. We wish them the best of luck on getting their qualification. The club will be in the capable hands of Will Bates.

Saturday Club

On Saturday we are also running the final week of our Saturday Club sessions. the DWSC Training team are working closely with the students to get them their RYA Stages and enjoy their time on the water.

Powerboat Level 2 

We are running a PB2 course this weekend instructed by William Bates.

Brunel University

We will have the Brunel University Sailing Team up on Saturday for a training session. Like us, they are participating in the Green Blue Project, making the environment second nature.

RYA Dinghy Instructor Pre- Assessment

On Sunday, there will be a Dinghy Instructor Pre Assessment ran by Coach Assessor Stuart Jones.

What’s on at the Club this Weekend

Dear Members,

 

The wind is looking great here at the club this weekend. It would be great to see all of you on the water.

After a successful but challenging Club Championships & Barts Bash Last Sunday, this Sunday we resume the Autumn Series with Races 3-4.

 

Laser TT

On Saturday we are hosting a Laser Open Meeting. We want to see as many lasers out of the boat park and out on the water tomorrow for the event. Lets see if a Datchet Member can be the Champion of the Datchet Open

Saturday Club

On Saturday we are also running our Saturday Club sessions. Stuart and his team are working closely with the students to get them their RYA Stages and enjoy their time on the water.

Sunday Afternoon Series 

This Sunday afternoons emphasis is on fun. It is the last of the afternoon series.

Joining in are Brunel University, 20 knot squad and the This Girl Can group.

 

Racing starts at 2.30 for the completive among you. Spaces available in boats for first timers, just email me.

 

If you don’t want to go on the water we would still love you to come and join us.

We would like to take a group photo before racing and hope to have 40 females in it.

So please bring your wife or partner and friends along for a coffee or a sail.

Club Championships & Bart’s Bash

Dear Members,

 

As you know the Club Championships and Bart’s Bash are on this Sunday. It would be great to see as many of you on the water as possible.

 

If you are a club member and wanting to hire a boat from our club fleet. Please give us a ring and book the boat in advance so we know the number of boats that are being issued.

Club Closed Tomorrow (Bank Holiday Monday)

Dear Members,
Just to let you know that the club will be closed tomorrow due to the allocated safety coxswain having to back out at the last minute. Unfortunately we  have not been able to find a replacement.

The main gates will still be open around the Virtual Rigger Opening hours.

What’s on at the Club this Weekend

Dear Members,

This weekend we have races 24 and 25 of the summer series, which is the last two of the series before the start of autumn.

The weather looks like it will be holding for a breezy weekend. It would be great to see as many sailors on the water as possible.

XC Weather DWSC

Powerboat Level 2 course

We welcome back Michael Quinn to the club to teach a Powerboat Level 2 course this weekend. Winds strong so it will be a great challenge for the new drivers.

Looking ahead this week

Wednesday we will have our Evening Racing. It will be the final Wednesday evening so it would be great to see you in the results. It will be a fun race run by DWSC Staff.

Thursday is the final “This Girl Can” well worth getting your wives, daughters and girlfriends into sailing. The campaign at Datchet has been extremely strong with over 15 new and experienced sailors. So come along on Thursday night and develop your skills in an educational and friendly environment.

Last week of late night social sailing

Please be aware that next week will be the final week of late night sailing. After that the water will be closing at 5pm during week days and 4:30 during weekends.

What’s on at the Club this Weekend?

Dear Members,

This weekend we have races 22 and 23 of the summer series.

The weather looks like there will be steady wind all weekend. It would be great to see as many sailors on the water as possible

Water Closed early on Friday night.

Due to staff illness the water needs to close by 6pm tonight.

Congratulations to our New Assistant Instructors!

We would like to congratulate Jack Winfield, Daniel Chattock and Josh Burdall for passing their Assistant Instructors course taken by our Senior Instructor Stuart. They all have worked very hard and we look forward to welcoming them on to our team of Instructors. Well done boys!

RYA Level 1 and 2

We are welcoming Gary to DWSC to teach an RYA Level 1 and 2 course this weekend. The wind looks perfect for learning and the sun will be out.

Sunday Afternoon Racing:

This weekend is the 7th and 8th Races of the Afternoon series. We are getting a good number of boats on the water and the weather looks perfect.

Looking ahead this week
